It doesn’t matter how large or small the audience. ![]() When Joe plays it is always from the heart. ![]() ![]() His shop and studio in St Albans has been home to years of music classes by himself and some of the best string teachers anywhere. Joe has been West Virginia’s ambassador of old-time music for many years. Establishes a flow and exchange of traffic/commerce (ideas/knowledge).Connects isolated or difficult to reach places.He gave us the concept of a bridge design because a bridge, he wrote: Why a FOOTbridge award? We asked a talented WV Artist, Rick Gallagher to help design an award that we could present to someone for their outstanding contribution to traditional music. And so we decided to honor a very special person in the traditional music community. “Isn’t it time?” we asked, to let people know that they are of real value to us. ![]() Their loss caused us to reflect on how much richness their unselfish lives had brought to our community. We lost two very special persons Mike Fenimore and Rebecca Skeen-Webb. The year 2002 brought a wake up call for FOOTMAD, the Friends Of Old Time Music And Dance. ![]()
